The Skywalk
Walking the streets, one conversation at a time
At the heart of Under One Sky's work are Skywalks — regular, organised outreach events where teams of volunteers walk a specific area of London on foot, meeting homeless friends where they are.
Each Skywalk team is led by an experienced team leader and covers between 20 and 100 people in a single outing. Teams carry food, water, hot drinks, clothing, toiletries, and other essentials — but the most important thing they bring is time.

Why Connection?
The thing people on the streets need most isn't a leaflet
Research consistently shows that isolation is one of the most damaging aspects of homelessness — and one of the biggest barriers to getting off the streets. People lose trust in institutions, in strangers, in themselves.
Under One Sky rebuilds that trust through consistent, unconditional presence. The same volunteers return. They remember names. They follow up. Over time, these relationships open doors that no referral form can.

From Crisis to Stability
Helping people take the next step — whatever that looks like
Once trust is established, Under One Sky supports people into practical next steps: connecting them with housing opportunities, helping them access employment, reuniting them with family, or providing life-critical items like glasses, wheelchairs, and mobile phones.
Since the pandemic, Under One Sky has made over 200,000 meaningful street connections — and helped many people move permanently off the streets.
